Minutes earlier Rico had arrived and spotted the couples from several yards away. He circled until he faced Rachel, removed a photo from his shirt pocket, and studied it briefly—the same picture that had fallen out of the duffel bag at Robert's apartment when he and Jerry searched the place. His eyes shifted between the necklace around Rachel's neck and the photo, which showed her and Robert dressed for a night out, beaming and holding hands like lovers. He put the picture back in his pocket and disappeared into the night.
